Complete Telugu Film industry is in shock with sudden demise of Andhrula Andagadu Shoban Babu and film artists expressed their views as follows:
NANDAMURI BALAKRISHNA Stated:
Hero Nandamuri Balakrishna reviewed his association and relationship with Shoban Babu and stated artists come and go only few actors remain in the hearts of audiences, Shoban Babu is one such actor, he started career with my father's flicks and inspiration was my father and A N R flicks and made his own style as a mark. Its a great association I had with him. His demise is a great loss to me. It would have been good if he would have come for Tollywood 75 year celebrations. N B K stated that he missed him a lot.
A N R Stated :
He is great human being and he was my admirer, he never mingled in personal life with films, he had disciplined and inspiration of many stars.
Superstar Krishna stated
Although both of our films used to compete, we were good friends. Our families are close to each other. We had acted together in many films. Perhaps, we hold the record for doing highest number of multi-starer flicks, my mother used to call him as her son and he used call my mother as mother only.
Krishnam Raju stated :
In those days, people had bad impression on stars and filmdom which was changed by Shoban Babu the complete perception with the way he lead his life. He was the best star that I have seen in my life. He never discouraged anyone. Nor did he badmouthed. Great person, indeed.
Suhasini stated
He is my all time favorite actor and great co-star. When I was in teens, I had huge crush on him. He always lived like a ‘hero’ and still remains my 'hero'. Although, he lived in Chennai, I hardly met him, for which I feel bad now.
Roja, Actress
In Sarpayagam - Shoban Babu played role of my father which happens to be my second flick. Since then, he remained father figure to me in life and treated me with great affection. I cried only two times in my life - when my father died and now. Shoban Babu gaaru was intellectual person and great human being.
Rajendra Prasad, Actor
Everybody should note a good quality of Shoban Babu is he never spoke bad of anybody through out his life. He never talked gossips or discussed about other stars or films. I had played to him as son, brother, brother-law and many other roles in his films. Even when I turned hero, he had worked with me in Samsaram in which he starred as my father.

Puri Vs Chiranjeevi
Puri Jagannath had a difference of opinion with producer Aswinidutt and Mega Star Chiranjeevi during the shooting of Chirutha itself. It is learnt that Puri Jagannath had left the project in the middle for some time and he was somehow pacified by the two to complete the project. In order to please Puri Jagannath, the release of the film was also postponed for several times and released it on Puri Jagannath’s birthday. However, Puri Jagannath is reportedly still in the angry mood. In his latest film ‘Bujjigadu’ (Made in Chennai), there are certain dialogues for Mohanbabu character, which sounds something against Chiranjeevi. Does this mean, Puri Jagannath started an anti-Chiranjeevi campaign?

Chiru completes 30 years
Exactly 30 years back, a star was born. No one could have imagined on the sets of Punadi Rallu that the young actor who was donning grease paint on to his face would rule Tollywood for 30 years there after. Yes, our megastar Chiranjeevi today (Feb 11) completes 30 years as actor. His was a modest beginning. Although Chiranjeevi shot for Punadirallu for first time as one of actors, Pranam Khareedu was his maiden release on the same year (September 22, 1978).
Balakrishna had came to the industryon the year 1974- 34 years.
Since then he has never looked back. Like his other contemporary great star Rajnikant, he didn't shy of doing negative roles in the beginning or acting as one of the lead actors until Khaidi (1982) happened. He changed the perception of heroism with a single stroke and 'danced' into the hearts and minds of a million youth with Khaidi.
To an audience, which was used to seeing over-aged heroes running laboriously from tree to tree, Chiranjeevi let the cat loose among the pigeons with his path breaking break dance routine.
Today, he is face of the Tollywood to people outside the state. Megastar is our industry's long-standing icon. An inspirational figure to the millions of fans!
Interestingly, at the end of the 30 years, he dreams to begin a new ear in another field (politics) like he did in films. Will megastar, the demigod of masses, be as successful as he is in films? Lets wish him all the best!

Gopichand in league of big stars!
Gopichand is clearly inching towards big stardom. The macho hero has already established himself as a bankable star with the successes of Yagnam, Ranam and Lakshyam. Especially after the stupendous success of Lakshyam, the trade woke up to his business stamina. The film raked in big moolah to the producer and distributors. Hence the sudden craze for Gopichand, the mass hero!
That is why Ontari has done amazing business, setting new records in his career. The film produced by Pokuri Baburao is said to have done a whopping Rs 13 Crores (approximate) business.
Any hero who guarantees an Rs 15 Crore market is considered big mass hero by the trade. So Gopichand is all set to join the select league of big heroes. He is just shy of that range. If Ontari succeeds, he might easily plunge into it.
Gopichand' s rise to stardom is inspiring. He effortlessly switched to lead roles from playing intensive negative roles (in Jayam, Varsham, etc) in no time. Ontari is releasing on Valentine's Day and the film's success is very crucial to him.

Unpardonable act: Mohan Babu condemns
Congress leaders, political personalities and filmmakers rushed to Rajashekar's residence and expressed solidarity to him. Mohan Babu too called on and stood by him. He condemned the attack on Rajashekar and termed it as ghastly incident. "Neechati Neechamaina act. ItĂ¢€™s unpardonable. Rajashekar and Jeevitha are dear to me. Rajashekar never did harm to anyone. ItĂ¢€™s democracy and everyone has a right to express his opinions. Violence attacks should be condemned," Mohan Babu said. He refused to talk about Chiranjeevi's political entry.
When asked why anti-Chiranjeevi camp is rushing to Rajashekar's residence, he said he came as a co-artiste and has no hidden interest.

Why Rajashekar and Chiru have enemity?
The latest attack on Rajashekar by Chiranjeevi's fans (or allegedly) further proves that the groups within the industry are deeper than they appear. Rajashekar who is known for angry young man roles in Tollywood with films like Magadu, Anuksham, etc, feels that he was cheated by Chiranjeevi. According to him, Chiranjeevi stole the remake rights of Tamil film, Ramana, right under nose from Rajashekar. "I bought the rights from the original producer and handed over him some advance. But Chiranjeevi camp met the producer without my knowledge and grabbed it. There are several instances," he accuses. That Ramana remade with Chiranjeevi as Tagore that brought Chiru the image of a star with social conscience. Not only Rajashekar and Mohan Babu, there are many other stars or actors who oppose Chiru. Megastar Chiranjeevi on other hand has been trying to mingle with all the heroes. |

Will Megastar care for these people?
Media wants some attractive and catchy news and when ever media finds this couple Srija & Sirish, the media people are in hurry to get some thing out of this couple.
The couple visited Tirumala recently and Media people asked to react about Megastar’s political entry, then Sirish has given a lengthy lecture as ‘ Any one can enter politics in this country but Megastar should come out with clear agenda and he should say his stand on Telangana’.
This was the reply of Sirish- really Megastar need opinion of such people. If Sirish really wanted to maintain politeness and diplomacy- he should avoided answering the question.
And at the same time, Srija said ‘We (Srija & her father) have not discussed politics in the recent times’.
Megastar is not showing any interest to speak this couple- where is the question of discussion?

Prabhas, NTRjr and Siddhu to campaign for Congress Party?
Hyderabad: The Congress government is planning to sweeten its massive pre-election publicity blitzkrieg with hit Telugu films. Specially modified vehicles will tour all the 294 Assembly constituencies in the state and screen Tollywood hits to attract people. In between, they will be persuaded to see short films on various achievements of the Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy government in the last three-and- a-half years.
The campaign, named Integrated Mobile Publicity in Assembly Constituencies (IMPACT), is estimated to cost Rs 100 crore and is likely to be launched on February 1. Sources told this correspondent that the government had purchased the rights of 20 Telugu blockbusters by spending Rs 50 crore to “retain the audience” in rural areas. They include Varsham starring Prabhas,Bommarillu with Siddharth and Simhadri in which Jr NTR plays the main role.
Interestingly, the Congress publicity managers have decided not to screen films starring N.T. Rama Rao and Chiranjeevi though they are very popular among people. They believe that NTR films may end up benefiting the Telugu Desam while Chiranjeevi hits might provide more mileage for the superstar who is planning to enter politics.
The short films will focus on general achievements and success stories relating to the particular area where the screening is being held. Two private firms have been chosen to take out the publicity campaign in the run-up to the 2009 elections. Sources said the campaign will be taken out in two phases. In the first phase, costing Rs 34 crore (apart from Rs 50 crore for the films), 147 Assembly constituencies will be covered.
Each vehicle will cover 100 villages in 50 days and conduct two screenings per day. They will publicise the Congress government’s flagship programmes and schemes including free power, Jalayagnam, Indiramma, Paavala Vaddi, NREGS, land distribution, Indira Prabha, Rajeev Udyoga Shree and Arogya Sri.

Raju Sundaram about Okkamagadu:
OM Choosanu. I liked NBK. Ayina review rayataniki dammulu avasarama? I think dabbuluki longina vaalu and commercial interests vunna vaalu and soul ammukunna vaalu review pettaru. I can’t post the review till it appears online in the hindu. Regarding NBK, for his age, he’s far more good looking than any of the actors in the industry. I found Maharadhi funny but this one…will post my review soon.
YVS is putting brave face despite barrage of criticism for his dud - Okka Magadu. He still believes that the film will win the hearts of the audiences. He defends the film with an argument that common man comes to see the movie without any pre-occupied mind unlike critics and fans.
On other hand, the film is liberally 'edited' by the theatre owners across the state. YVS has also trimmed the film. He has now cut out two songs and some unimportant scenes that have running time of close to 20 mins.

With the success of Shah Rukh Khan's Don and Ajith's Billa in Tamil, work for remake of Yugandhar has gained momentum. Sri Raja Rajeshwari Combines has bagged the remake rights of NTR's Yugandhar and as well as the rights of Ajith's Billa for a whopping price. We understand that the price paid for the rights was much bigger than an upcoming starĂ¢€™s remuneration.
According to our reliable sources, Raja Rajeshwari Combines has bought the rights of this remake from the original producers - 'Chandramukhi' Vasu's family. Vasu's father Pitambaram who was make-up man for Late NTR was the original producer and Vasu himself wanted to remake it but he sold off the rights.
The question is who will act in this remake? They are currently in discussions with members of Nandamuri family. A young director came forward to direct it. The official announcement will be out in a week.

Ravi Teja is on cloud nine with his Sankranthi release, Krishna, getting good response from all quarters. He credits the success to director Vinayak for making complete family entertainer. With renewed enthusiasm and joy, he has signed two films this year.
His next film to be directed by Uday Shankar begins its regular shooting from January 16th. He pairs with his lucky heroine Anushka (they had first paired together in Rajamouli directed Vikramarkudu). Suresh Productions is producing it.
On other hand, he will also be working for director and producer Puri Jagannadh from July 2008. He plans to turn director next year.
